The Role
We are hiring a software engineer on the Developer Experience team. You will own projects from the first problem statement through production, and measure whether they worked.
The team owns how developers discover, adopt, and operate Alchemy: the dashboard, APIs, SDKs, CLI, and MCP server that sit between our infrastructure and the people building on it. A growing share of those users are coding agents, so we design for both.
Recent work spans enterprise controls, management APIs, developer observability, onboarding, and self-serve growth. Ahead of us is the shift to agents that discover tools, write code, pay for services with x402, and operate onchain infrastructure on their own.
Our stack: TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Temporal, Kafka, AWS, and Kubernetes.
What You Will Work On
Agent-native developer tools: our CLI, SDKs, MCP server, x402 payments, and Agent Wallets.
Enterprise capabilities for teams running production traffic: organizations, roles, SSO, key management, audit history, and spend controls.
Public and management APIs for usage, billing, apps, and teams, used by developers, internal tools, and coding agents.
Developer observability and product quality: usage analytics, request logs, alerts, and the reliability of the surfaces developers use every day.
What You Will Do
Own projects from problem definition through design, launch, measurement, and on-call.
Design APIs with clear versioning, error handling, safe defaults, and backwards compatibility.
Build data models and services that stay correct and reliable as traffic and customer needs grow, with security built in for users, agents, and services.
Build the user-facing side of your features across our dashboard, CLI, and SDKs, so developers and coding agents can discover and use them safely.
Instrument what you ship. Use activation, adoption, and conversion data, plus direct developer feedback, to decide what to build next.
Write design docs, runbooks, and developer-facing documentation. Review code and technical designs to keep quality high.
Work with Product, Billing, Security, Growth, and other engineering teams.
What Success Looks Like
At six months, you have:
Execution: Scoped, designed and shipped a project across our APIs, backend services, and dashboard or CLI, and paying customers use it in production.
Ownership: Joined on-call and handled incidents in your area without escalating. Your launches ship with alerts, a runbook and a rollback plan.
Impact: Moved a number you can name, such as feature adoption, free-to-paid upgrades, time to first API call, or support tickets.
Team: Earned the team’s trust by making sound technical decisions, collaborating across functions, and improving code and design quality.
Direction: Proposed what the team should build next, backed by usage data and conversations with developers.
Helpful Experience
Blockchain experience is helpful, not required.
Developer platforms, API products, cloud consoles, or enterprise developer tools, including SDKs, CLIs, MCP servers, agent tools, or machine-readable documentation.
Billing, metering, or pricing systems.
Temporal or another workflow orchestration system, plus caching and analytical data systems.
Observability, incident response, and performance optimization.
Blockchain products or developer tools, or agent payment and identity standards such as x402.
Open source contributions, talks, or technical writing.
