Associate Cybersecurity Analyst
What you need
- Associate degree in MIS/CS or similar
- Security certification (Security+, CySA+, Network+) within 6 months
- Familiarity with SOC tools (SIEM, EDR, ticketing systems)
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, Citrix
- Availability for overnight/weekend shifts

Job Summary:
As an Associate Cybersecurity Analyst, you will have the opportunity to jump start your Cybersecurity career, triaging alerts from our SOC queue and escalating when necessary.
We are looking for an energetic, early career individual who is passionate about Technology and Cybersecurity to join our growing IT Security team

Monitor security alerts from SOC tools and queues, assess relevance and urgency, and prioritise items for investigation or escalation.

Perform initial investigation of security alerts, document findings in the ticketing system, and report suspicious activity or recurring trends to the appropriate escalation path.

Communicate clearly with IT teams, end users, service desk, Tier 2 SOC analysts, and management when gathering information, updating tickets, or escalating alerts.

Own assigned alerts through initial triage, documentation, follow-up, and handoff to the appropriate escalation team.

Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication

Must be available to work a regular overnight and/or weekend shift

Familiarity with SOC tools such as SIEM, EDR or anti-virus platforms, email security, asset monitoring, and ticketing systems.

Working knowledge of malware prevention, threat detection, incident response playbooks, escalation procedures, reporting, and general IT infrastructure.

Familiarity with Microsoft products (Office365 & Azure) and Citrix (Virtual Apps & Desktops) technologies

Working knowledge and understanding of Windows operating systems

Ability to navigate and utilize a ticketing system (working knowledge of ServiceNow is a plus)

Ability to work under pressure, in a high-paced environment and with short deadlines

Experience preferred with a background in helpdesk, NOC, systems administration, cybersecurity operations, or a security internship.

Associate degree in MIS, Computer Science or similar focus

Security certification, current or obtained within 6 months of hire, such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Network+.
