Within CSG, the Human Exploration and Spaceflight (HESF) Division provides comprehensive support to NASA across all human spaceflight operations and program office activities. We are seeking an EVA Development Engineer (Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer - Systems Engineering) at the Johnson Space Center. This position will provide project management support to the EVA Development Project Office of the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP).at NASA/Johnson Space Center.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with multiple supporting organizations to develop budgets and plans for the EVA Development Project Office
- Represent the EVA Development project as Hardware Development team member/lead at collaborator and Program working groups, control boards, and other project meetings
- Work with multiple project managers to ensure cost, technical and schedule requirements are met and to help resolve higher scope issues
- Integrate with owners of interfacing hardware/systems and various collaborators within the EVA community to ensure proper requirements are being met
- Lead conflict resolution discussions, as needed, across multi-stakeholder teams
- Review and manage integrated master schedules
- Perform formal product reviews (i.e., contract deliverables, lifecycle reviews, and change requests)
- Identify, analyze, and lead mitigations of project/program risks; monitor and control risks
- Participate in or lead development, implementation, and maintenance of processes/plans required to support EVA Development Project Office Objectives
What You Need to be Successful- Project Engineer - Systems Engineering
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, or closely related STEM discipline
- At least 6 years of experience increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment
- Ability to effectively use oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
- Ability to work effectively and quickly in real-time environments of rapid-change, conflicting requirements, and occasional pressure
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
- Senior level understanding of project management techniques and methods
- Knowledge and experience on performance evaluation and organizational change principles
- Willing to travel approx. 10%
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Sr. Project Engineer - Systems Engineering include:
- At least 10 years of experience increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment
- Experience performing or leading technical and programmatic tasks for NASA
- Familiarity with NASA standards and specifications
- Prior experience in a Customer/Client Interface role

- Advanced degree in engineering, science, or closely related STEM discipline
- More than 10 years’ experience of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment
- Knowledge of EVA systems and current technology
- Previous experience in certification of Class I Flight Hardware Delivery
- Experience with Contract management
- Demonstrates enterprise-level perspective with prior Program Office(s) and ETG experience

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
