Within the CSG, the NASA Programs Division (NPD) supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight.  The primary function of this position is to provide leadership for establishing and implementing program external reporting and compliance.  As the Program Reporting & Compliance Lead (MTS Casual III- Systems Engineering). representing Aerospace on this NASA team, you’ll be instrumental in supporting executive level NASA Program Planning and Control (PP&C) by leading the development and implementation of critical space exploration initiatives within NASA.  


The selected candidate will be required to work part-time on a casual basis, on-site at our facility in Houston, TX at Johnson Space Center.  


What You’ll Be Doing  

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, establishing and implementing external reporting protocols and compliance frameworks that ensure program accountability and stakeholder transparency 
  • Serve as the technical integrator ensuring program plans, baselines, and audit responses align with Agency directives and maintain mission integrity 
  • Develop and execute strategic external reporting frameworks, delivering accurate and timely communications to stakeholders from program level through Directorate leadership 
  • Lead coordination and support for program audits and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, managing technical documentation, response strategies, and stakeholder engagement 
  • Orchestrate the development, organization, and maintenance of comprehensive program documentation in accordance with NPR 7120.5 requirements, spanning Program Formulation through Implementation phases 
  • Champion NPR 7120.5 compliance activities by planning, executing, and documenting compliance strategies that ensure program success and regulatory adherence 
  • Integrate and synchronize programmatic and tactical 30-60-90-day schedules across programs, centers, and enterprise organizations to maximize alignment, visibility, and execution excellence 
  • Manage program-related web presence, including content strategy, updates, production workflows, and permissions governance 
  • Act as a highly proactive technical specialist who deeply understands complex program challenges, formulates strategic options and recommendations, and collaborates closely with senior leadership to drive informed decision-making 
  • Adapt to evolving program needs and perform additional duties as required to support customer mission success 

What You Need to be Successful - MTS Casual III- Systems Engineering  

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree or advanced degree from an accredited program in a technical discipline 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technical disciplines supporting large-scale government programs 
  • Proven leadership and teaming abilities with demonstrated capacity to manage multiple complex issues and disciplines simultaneously 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to distill complex technical information into clear, compelling executive briefings and decision packages 
  • Working knowledge of NPR 7120.5 or similar program/project management compliance frameworks (e.g., DoD, FAA, or other federal agency standards) 
  • Demonstrated expertise preparing executive-level reports and delivering polished briefings to senior leadership and external stakeholders 
  • Experience coordinating audits, assessments, or independent reviews, including evidence collection, documentation preparation, and response management 
  • Hands-on experience supporting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request processing and response coordination 
  • Strong organizational skills in developing, maintaining, and managing program documentation systems and knowledge repositories 
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work proactively and independently while effectively engaging leadership, technical teams, and cross-organizational stakeholders 
  • Proven ability to thrive in distributed team environments spanning multiple organizations, projects, and programs across NASA and Aerospace Corporation 
  • Superior analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities 
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams) 
  • Experience with schedule management tools such as Microsoft Project or equivalent 
  • Willing to travel occasionally to support customer needs   
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. 

How You Can Stand Out

  • An advanced degree or advanced degree from an accredited program in a technical discipline 
  • 10+ years of experience working with NASA programs or supporting NASA commercial systems and international partnerships 
  • Deep understanding of NASA Human Spaceflight programs, operations, and technical challenges 
  • Extensive project management expertise, including PMP certification or equivalent credentials 
  • Proven track record leading multidisciplinary collaborations that bridge technical specialties and organizational boundaries 
  • Experience with Agile or hybrid program management methodologies in government environments 
  • Familiarity with NASA's Science Mission Directorate (SMD) or other NASA mission directorates 
  • Background in systems engineering disciplines and life cycle management
