
Industrial Logistics Operator

THALES Belfast is currently recruiting a Service Operator to provide support to the logistics department to perform all tasks necessary to enable production function and achieve programme i.e. kitting and all duties associated with materials handling, storage, dispatch, packing and production control in addition to other duties including driving across Belfast and Crossgar sites.
Principle Relationships:
- Reporting to Logistics manager.
- Working closely with both Logistics and Stores.
- Supporting Operations, Trials and Sales.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Total flexibility and mobility across all stores, production control and material handling duties across all general duties.
- Minor machine / equipment maintenance
- The care and security of all equipment, tools and materials within the operator’s sphere of operation.
- Pack and Dispatch company products.
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Operating MHE equipment as necessary including Health and Safety checks.
- Drive a variety of vehicles mainly Forklift trucks and Vans.
- Dispatch/Deliver all company products as required, ensuring all safety and security requirements are met.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine daily maintenance checks.
- Advise and report any vehicle defects.
- Work in support of THALES site operations as required.
Skills
Essential
- Clean UK driving licence.
- Must be physically fit as the role often requires heavy lifting.
- Must hold a minimum-security clearance of SC or be prepared to obtain to satisfy security requirements.
Desirable
- Dangerous goods aware.
- Forklift licence
