As Director of Competitive Market Intelligence, you will lead Thales Australia’s intelligence strategy to anticipate market shifts, competitor activity and emerging opportunities, shaping strategic decisions across the business. Working closely with Strategy & Growth colleagues and CBU leadership, you will turn insight into action to strengthen Thales’ competitive edge across Australia’s defence, aerospace and cyber security sectors.
Located in North Sydney's Rydalmere, on Darug land, your role purpose will be-
Lead and continuously enhance Thales Australia’s competitive and market intelligence framework, priorities, tools and open-source insights to inform strategic decision-making.
Monitor market trends, policy, procurement pipelines and budgets to provide demand-driven forecasts and assess strategic growth opportunities.
Analyse Thales’ competitive position, emerging technologies and portfolio impacts to inform business strategy.
Provide capture teams with real-time bid intelligence, pricing benchmarks and customer insights to strengthen value propositions and differentiation.
Identify competitive threats, mitigation actions and whitespace opportunities across partnerships, acquisitions and new market entry.
On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
Solid experience in professional intelligence analysis across government, business or academia
Strong knowledge of the Australian defence market, including key players, industry dynamics and procurement processes
Defence or national security experience desirable, but not essential
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex intelligence into clear, actionable insights

Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks.
A NV 1 Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.
