Job Description
Thales AGS Trading is a specialized division within the Thales Group, operating in the aviation aftermarket with a core focus on Used Serviceable Material (USM). AGS Trading aims to deliver a premium service solution, which offers airlines, MROs, and other aviation stakeholders, a cost-effective solution to maintain their fleet in operational condition by selling serviceable high-quality aircraft components for commercial programs.
Operating in a fast-paced and competitive trading environment, AGS Trading team leverages data to drive agility, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
This position of Enterprise Data Lead is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE and reports to the General Manager of AGS Trading.
The position owner will:
- Work closely with procurement, supply chain, finance, sales, compliance, and IT, as well as with external vendors and implementation partners.
- Act as the central point of accountability for the Thales AGS Trading data ecosystem, covering ERP administration, data platforms, data analytics, integrations, and governance:
- Overseeing of system configuration, user access, and data integrity, while coordinating with ERP vendor technical support to resolve incidents, deploy fixes, and manage upgrades
- Ensuring smooth change management through UAT, testing, and compliance with internal controls.
- Engage stakeholders to understand priorities, translate them into scalable solutions, and ensure the timely delivery of reliable insights.
- Driving cross-functional collaboration to align data initiatives with business outcomes, strengthen governance and data quality.
- Promotion of continuous improvement through automation, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Acting as the strategic owner of enterprise data systems, ensuring all platforms are maintained and evolved in alignment with business requirements. Provide leadership in shaping the overall data ecosystem and driving its continuous improvement.
- Overseeing ERP administration
- Manage user access controls, cloud-based system configurations, and data extraction using SQL queries across key modules (Inventory Management, Accounting, Sales, Procurement, Repair, etc.).
- Build and maintain Event Managers within the ERP that send timely alerts and notifications to relevant users.
- Build and maintain custom ERP forms (such as Customer Quote, Sales Order Acknowledgment, Purchase Order, Financial Invoice, Custom Invoice etc.) that are actively used by relevant teams during day-to-day operations.
- Use the Screen Editor tool to apply regulations and field-level controls within ERP that ensure the system interface aligns with business requirements.
- Verify bulk data accuracy and perform imports into the ERP,
- Actively collaborate with the Technical Support team to resolve critical issue in a timely manner.
- Collaboration with internal cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements, translate them into data driven solutions that supports operational excellence and strategic goals.
- Designing, developing, enhancing, and maintenance of:
- Automated pipelines (using SQL/Python) and workflows to fetch and integrate raw data from multiple sources in real time into various reports and decision-making tools.
- Dashboards and predictive models that translate complex data into insights, which provide decision-making, cross-functional support.
- Creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation, training materials, and structured knowledge repositories to enable smooth adoption of PBI reports and dashboards. Delivery of training sessions and knowledge transfer programs to build capability and ensure business continuity.
- Leading Procurement Campaigns and FMV Analytics by managing end-to-end campaign activities including launching campaigns, consolidating and cleaning supplier responses, updating dashboard with validated data, and applying advanced analytical model forecast FMV. Import campaign data and FMV outputs into the ERP within relevant modules/fields to ensure seamless integration and visibility for the users.
- Leading digital transformation and modernization initiatives (AGS Trading Marketplace & Cloud Migration) to improve processes efficiency ensure data security, workflow optimization, and automation.
- Collaboration with:
- Trade Compliance, Export Control department and CRM tech support team to ensure full compliance across Trading operations (Company/PN validation and approval).
- IS/IT Team to safeguard Thales IT policies and regulatory requirements while mitigating risks associated with data integrity and security.
- Overseeing data quality frameworks by establishing clear processes within ERP ensuring clean and reliable data
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8–10 years of professional experience in data engineering, ERP systems, and data analytics.
Technical Skills:
- Languages & Frameworks: Python, SQL, PySpark, DAX
- Data Engineering: ETL Pipelines, Data Modeling, Data Integration, API (REST/GraphQL), Talend
- Databases: Oracle, SQL Server
- Business Intelligence: Power BI, Tableau
- ERP Systems: Oracle-based ERP (Quantum Control) – Configuration, Administration, and Integration
- Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure
- Advanced Analytics: Predictive Modeling, Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning Algorithms
- Automation & Tools: Power Automate, Event Manager
- Data Governance: Data Quality Management, Validation Rules
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, finance, and sales functions
- Ability to bridge business requirements with technical solutions
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills
- Result-oriented mindset with the ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse, cross-functional, and multicultural Team
- Experience in the aerospace industry or trading domain is an advantage
