Cyber Security Senior Engineer

We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Senior Engineer to join Thales Portugal in our Aerospace and Security team! If you are passionate about cybersecurity and want to be part of a global leader driving innovation in critical systems, this is your opportunity!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and integration of secure IT architectures across IT, IoT, ICS, cloud, and critical infrastructures, ensuring scalable and resilient solutions;

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to align security architectures with infrastructure and operational needs;

• Analyse security requirements across IT systems, IoT, ICS, and cloud environments;

• Define and deliver high-level secure architectures, supporting design phases and assessing risks and alternatives;

• Deploy and manage security technologies such as firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, VPNs, XDR, SIEM, SOAR, and vulnerability management tools;

• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS);

• Monitor and manage security risks with stakeholders, ensuring continuous compliance and mitigation.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Computer Science or a relevant technical field;

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on engineering and architecture in IT, OT/ICS and Cloud environments;

• Security certifications from organizations such as: ISC2, ISACA, SANS or other are a plus;

• Familiarity with ISO 27001 standards and security frameworks such as NIST;

• Knowledge of ICS-specific frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82);

• Proficiency in English;

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to address complex technical challenges.
