POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Senior Procurement Manager responsible for leading the organization’s procurement strategy, sourcing activities, and supplier management to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality acquisition of goods and services. This role partners closely with finance, operations, contracts, legal, and executive leadership to optimize spend, mitigate risk, and support business objectives.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals

  • Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Oversee procurement policies, procedures, and compliance with internal controls

  • Drive cost savings initiatives and value creation opportunities across categories

  • Collaborate with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis

  • Lead and develop procurement team members, including performance management and mentoring

  • Monitor market trends, supply risks, and commodity pricing to inform sourcing decisions

  • Support cross-functional initiatives related to supply chain optimization and process improvement

  • Oversee procurement systems, tools, and data integrity (e.g., ERP, e-procurement platforms)

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program and organizational goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • 8+ years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience

  • Experience with government acquisition processes, MIL‑STD requirements, and secure program execution

  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations

  • Prior people management and leadership experience

  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and compliance

  • Experience with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba); Deltek CostPoint experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
