POSITION SUMMARY
Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Senior Procurement Manager responsible for leading the organization’s procurement strategy, sourcing activities, and supplier management to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality acquisition of goods and services. This role partners closely with finance, operations, contracts, legal, and executive leadership to optimize spend, mitigate risk, and support business objectives.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals
Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and continuous improvement efforts
Oversee procurement policies, procedures, and compliance with internal controls
Drive cost savings initiatives and value creation opportunities across categories
Collaborate with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and spend analysis
Lead and develop procurement team members, including performance management and mentoring
Monitor market trends, supply risks, and commodity pricing to inform sourcing decisions
Support cross-functional initiatives related to supply chain optimization and process improvement
Oversee procurement systems, tools, and data integrity (e.g., ERP, e-procurement platforms)
Perform additional duties as assigned to support program and organizational goals
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
8+ years of progressive procurement or sourcing experience
Experience with government acquisition processes, MIL‑STD requirements, and secure program execution
Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations
Prior people management and leadership experience
Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and compliance
Experience with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba); Deltek CostPoint experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
