Introduction to the job

As a treasury operations manager, you will lead a team of five, responsible for the Treasury Operations activities of ASML. This comprises all worldwide Treasury processes that ASML performs in our regions.


As ASML has major activities in Asia, USA and Europe, you will work together with teams across the world. You will align with a variety of stakeholders to ensure accurate processes and reporting and will work in a dynamic and internationally oriented environment with tight deadlines and direct impact on ASML’s financial results.


Role and responsibilities

As a treasury operations manager, you will join the Tax & Treasury Finance Operations team, which is part of the CFO organization of ASML. You will ensure the effective, compliant and controlled execution of treasury processes within ASML Business Services (ABS) Finance Operations. A key responsibility is safeguarding ASML’s integrity by ensuring robust application of the Treasury Policy, global control frameworks across all regions. You will own the operational control environment for all Back Office related processes, drive continuous strengthening of segregation of duties, automated and detective controls, and ensure alignment with other functions.


You will be responsible - with a team - for managing the daily treasury operations activities of ASML, including bank statement processing, bank account management, deal administration, confirmation, banking portal administration and treasury payment execution. Your role ensures efficient, timely and correct administration of all Treasury deals in compliance with policies.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Treasury control, treasury reporting and operational risk management
  • End-to-end Treasury Back Office execution (deal settlements, bank account lifecycle, TMS operations)
  • In-house cash (IHC) governance and execution
  • Treasury Back Office incident & crisis escalation management
  • Process improvements and digitalization initiatives
  • KYC
  • Lead a team of 2 specialists in Veldhoven and 3 regional treasury Back Office specialists

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
  • Professional certification (preferred) such as CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or CFA/ACCA/CPA
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in treasury operations and related controls in multinational environment; Strong understanding of treasury E2E processes and banking products, FX, derivatives, and financial instruments
  • Experience with Treasury tools preferably IT2 and ERP system (SAP ECC/S4 Hana), IT technical experience with data analytics and automation of processes is a pre
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial internal controls (Sox; US GAAP, IFRS)
  • Experience with end-to-end process optimization; knowledge of LEAN
  • Experience in leading a team of highly skilled and motivated people

Other information

The objective of Treasury Operations (Mid- and Back Office) is to ensure an efficient and effective globally managed treasury process including daily oversight of treasury operations, the establishment of internal controls and treasury system support. Part of your job is partnering closely with the Treasury Front Office (part of Expert Advisory) to support new initiatives and co-design optimized E2E process solutions. You will relentlessly focus on continuous process improvement to achieve world class operations also by leveraging LEAN waste reduction in our processes. The Treasury Operations team works closely together with the other finance functions like Treasury Front Office (Expert Advisory), Treasury Accountants, Internal Control Business Insights & Control (BI&C), IT and Country Finance teams.
