Introduction to the job

At our Berlin site, we manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems. As part of our high-tech manufacturing team, you will contribute to the production of optical components, assemblies, and systems made of glass, glass ceramics, and ceramics for high-tech small series, single parts, and prototype manufacturing.
 

With specific R&D and manufacturing expertise, we develop and produce specific components for ASML’s EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) and DUV (Deep Ultraviolet) systems. Our craftsmanship in precision manufacturing, combined with our expertise in optical fabrication technology, makes us the global competence center for optics and wafer chuck technology within ASML.

Role and responsibilities 

As a Product Engineer you take technical ownership of defined process chain sections or products in series production as well as components in the pilot phase. Specifically, this means:

• Problem Solving & Stability: Analyze and resolve product issues, implement solutions, and ensure stable product performance in series production.

• Process Understanding: Understand core processes and functional requirements of your products and process chains.

• Implement manufacturing concepts and improve KPIs such as yield, rework, cycle time, and cost.

• Specifications & Features: Review and adjust product specifications in close collaboration with D&E teams at various locations.

• Risk Analysis: Assess changes and perform risk analyses for your area of responsibility.

• Project Work: Support optimization and NPI projects, develop rework strategies and standardized processes.

• Quality Decisions: Evaluate deviations and damages on components and decide on their further use.

• Documentation & SAP: Create work orders for technical changes and trial parts.

• Reference Samples & Test Parts: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the reference sample catalog and ensure timely provision of test parts.

• Networking & Collaboration: Build and maintain a strong network with manufacturing, engineers, project management, and product owners – locally and globally.

Education and experience 

• You hold a degree in natural sciences or engineering (e.g., mechanical engineering, materials science, production technology) or have a comparable qualification.

• You have initial professional experience in a technical environment, ideally in manufacturing or production.

• You understand process chains and their interdependencies as well as core processes including tolerances.

• You are familiar with methods such as Six Sigma, SPC, PDCA, and Continuous Improvement and apply them confidently.

• You can analyze and optimize manufacturing processes with a focus on KPIs such as yield, rework, cycle time, and cost.

An unserem Standort in Berlin fertigen unsere Mitarbeitenden Schlüsselkomponenten für die ASML Lithografiesysteme. Als Teil unserer Hochtechnologiefertigung unterstützt du bei der Produktion optischer Komponenten, Baugruppen sowie Systeme aus Glas, Glaskeramik und Keramik für unsere High-Tech-Kleinserien, Einzelteil- und Prototypenfertigung.

Mit spezifischem F&E- sowie Fertigungs-Know-how entwickeln und produzieren wir spezifische Komponenten für ASML: Extrem Ultraviolett- (EUV-) und Deep Ultraviolett- (DUV-) Systeme. Deine Aufgaben

Als Produktverantwortliche:r Ingenieur:in übernimmst du die technische Verantwortung für definierte Prozesskettenabschnitte oder Produkte in der Serienfertigung sowie für Bauteile in der Pilotphase. Konkret bedeutet das:

• Problemlösung & Stabilität: Du analysierst und löst Produktprobleme, implementierst Lösungen und stellst die Produktperformance in der Serie sicher.

• Du verstehst die Kernprozesse und funktionalen Anforderungen deiner Produkte und Prozessketten.

• Du setzt Fertigungskonzepte um und verbesserst KPIs wie Rückmeldungen, Nacharbeit, Durchlaufzeit und Kosten.

• Spezifikationen & Features: Du prüfst und passt Produktspezifikationen in enger Abstimmung mit D&E-Teams an verschiedenen Standorten an.

• Du beurteilst Änderungen und führst Risikoanalysen für deinen Verantwortungsbereich durch.

• Du unterstützt Optimierungs- und NPI-Projekte, entwickelst Nacharbeitsstrategien und standardisierte Abläufe.

• Du bewertest Abweichungen und Beschädigungen an Bauteilen und entscheidest über deren Weiterverwendung.

• Dokumentation & SAP: Du erstellst Arbeitsaufträge für technische Änderungen und die dafür notwendigen Versuchsteile.

• Grenzmuster & Testteile: Du wirkst bei der Erstellung und Pflege des Grenzmusterkatalogs mit und stellst Testteile termingerecht bereit.

• Netzwerk & Zusammenarbeit: Du pflegst ein starkes Netzwerk mit Fertigung, Ingenieur:innen, Projektleitung, Product Ownern – lokal und global

Deine Qualifikationen

• Du hast ein abgeschlossenes Studium in Naturwissenschaften oder Technik (z. B. Maschinenbau, Werkstofftechnik, Produktionstechnik) oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation.

• Du bringst erste Berufserfahrung im technischen Umfeld, idealerweise in der Fertigung oder Produktion mit.

• Du verstehst Prozessketten und deren Zusammenhänge sowie die Kernprozesse inklusive ihrer Toleranzen.

• Du kennst Methoden wie Six Sigma, SPC, PDCA und Continuous Improvement und setzt sie sicher ein.

• Du kannst Fertigungsprozesse analysieren und optimieren – mit Blick auf KPIs wie Rückmeldungen, Nacharbeit, Durchlaufzeit und Kosten.
