Introduction

You will join the Hardware Simulation group within IT R&D Solution Delivery at ASML in Veldhoven. The team provides high‑performance computing environments that support complex engineering simulations worldwide.
This internship contributes to improving reliability, transparency, and safety of cluster configuration management.
You will help design a version‑control approach that supports traceability and simplifies collaboration across teams. Cluster configuration versioning lets you see how infrastructure choices directly impact engineering quality and speed.

Your assignment

During this internship, you will design and prototype an automated version‑control workflow for cluster configuration files.
You will focus on solutions that are easy to use, transparent, and naturally adopted by the team.
The goal is to make configuration changes traceable, reviewable, and safer to deploy.
Your key responsibilities will be

Design a structured workflow to version‑control critical cluster configuration files.
Develop scripts to automatically extract and store configuration changes in a central repository.
Prototype drift detection that compares deployed configurations with stored versions.
Enable peer review of configuration changes before they are applied in production environments.
Explore automation options using application programming interfaces and pipeline workflows.
Document the solution so team members can easily use and maintain it.

This is a bachelor/master internship for minimum 4 months, minimum 4 days per week (hybrid). This internship is in based in Veldhoven.The start date of this internship is as of September 2026.

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

Are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Have basic knowledge of Linux systems and configuration files.
Are familiar with Git or comparable version‑control workflows.
Have interest in scripting, for example using Python or shell scripting.
Show an analytical, curious, and collaborative way of working.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
