
Product Security Subject Matter Expert

Introduction to the job
As a Product Security Subject Matter Expert, you will help protect ASML’s advanced technology by embedding security into product designs. Your work ensures that our products meet strict security standards, safeguarding intellectual property and supporting innovation for the world’s leading chipmakers. You will guide development teams and influence design choices that strengthen product security across multiple domains.
Role and responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate with architects, designers, and security specialists to implement effective security controls. You will also shape roadmaps and standards that drive secure product development.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Review and provide input on product designs to ensure compliance with security standards.
- Partner with design teams to guide secure design decisions.
- Update and improve internal guidelines for product security and IP protection.
- Define future direction for controls such as encryption, tamper resistance, and runtime protection.
Education and experience
You bring strong technical expertise and practical experience in product security:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in product security or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience in: designing security solutions for complex products, coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues and implementing IP protection controls.
- Knowledge of encryption and cryptography is highly relevant.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
