This role is ideal for an expert with strong stakeholder management skills, educational design expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a deep understanding of the vocational learning needs of the Manufacturing workforce. 

 

Role & Responsibilities 

As the Learning Architect for the Manufacturing Career College, your key responsibilities include: 

  • Shape the Learning & Knowledge Management (L&KM) vision and architecture:  

  • Codefine and implement the vision, mission, and strategy of the Manufacturing Career College with the Career College Business Partner. 

  • Establish and maintain the overarching learning architecture and design principles with support from HR, Manufacturing stakeholders, and other Academies. 

  • Conduct learning and content analyses to identify business needs related to strengthening craftsmanship and supporting career development. 

  • Translate business capabilities and role requirements into clear, structured career paths. 

  • Develop standards, frameworks, and quality assurance: 

  • Define and maintain design and quality standards for learning solutions such as learning and content analysis. 

  • Create and manage competency frameworks, assessment models, and certification solutions. 

  • Set quality gates and acceptance criteria for learning design, ensuring alignment with business requirements and educational standards. 

  • Collaborate with Dutch Education Partners (MBO/HBO): 

  • Develop and sustain strong partnerships with Dutch vocational (MBO) and higher education (HBO) institutions. 

  • Identify and explore learning solutions emerging from education partners, assessing their relevance for ASML Manufacturing. 

  • Codevelop learning programs and curricula with education partners to align with ASMLs current and future workforce needs. 

  • Represent ASML Manufacturing in Project Beethoven and broader industry–education collaboration initiatives to strengthen the regional talent pipeline. 

 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in educational sciences, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or related field. 

  • 5–10 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or learning architecture, preferably in a large-scale or technical environment. 

  • Experience in collaborating with vocational and higher education institutions (MBO/HBO). 

  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments, technical roles, or learning for craftsmanship is a strong advantage. 

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving educational or learning innovations. 

 

Personal Skills 

  • Strong conceptual thinker with the ability to simplify complexity and drive clarity in ambiguous environments. 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; entrepreneurial and proactive in identifying opportunities and mobilizing stakeholders. 

  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across sectors and with internal and external partners. 

  • Quality-driven, methodical, and structured in learning architecture and design 

  • Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for the daytoday needs of Manufacturing employees and translates these insights into effective learning solutions. 

  • Ability to recognize and translate the learning needs of vocational (MBO) employees into effective learning solutions. 

  • Passionate about educational innovation and workforce development, with a handson mentality to facilitate brainstorms sessions or workshops when needed.  

 

Other Information 

The Learning Architect reports to the Manager of Architecture, Design & Develop team within the Manufacturing Academy Veldhoven. You will play a critical role in ensuring learning solutions are coherent, aligned with strategic goals, and support the longterm development of ASMLs manufacturing workforce. 

The role is part of the Career College natural team, working closely with the Career College Business Partner and Career College Learning & Knowledge Management Solution Manager. Other Stakeholders are Manufacturing HR Business Partners, Manufacturing representatives, External educational institutions (MBO/HBO), Project Beethoven teams. 

The team works efficient and resultdriven, switching daily between roles in HR, Learning & Development, Educational Design, Project Management, while engaging in constructive collaboration and upholding individual accountability.
