Major Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton OH is searching for a Strategic Planning Staff Officer to support NSIC (GG-0132-13). Description: The National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) is seeking a Strategic Planning Staff Officer to guide our efforts in space intelligence planning. In this role, you will lead the integration and management of all NSIC-wide Intelligence Planning (IP) support, directly aligning NSIC's multi-source analysis capabilities with warfighting COCOM OPLANs, CONPLANs, and theater JIOCs. As the primary authority translating high-level guidance into actionable space intelligence initiatives, you will develop tailored support plans that ensure our joint warfighters possess a decisive information advantage. As the Strategic Planning Staff Officer, your daily mission will be dynamic and visible. You will plan and organize the Center's intelligence support during real-world crises, contingencies, and major joint exercises, ensuring our forces "train as they fight." During crises, you will lead teams of subject matter experts across NSIC's squadrons to deliver intelligence support to the Joint Staff, DIA, and Combatant Commands. As NSIC's exercise liaison, you will represent the Center at the highest levels of the DoW and IC, advocating for NSIC equities and securing critical partnerships. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of NSIC organizations, missions, and inter-relationships, as well as extensive knowledge of Intelligence Campaign Planning and joint strategic/operational planning concepts, principles, and processes. The ideal candidate has experience in: collaborating with partners to identify common goals and objectives; applying technical knowledge to operational/intelligence plans; communicating directly with DoW senior leaders (O-6 to O-10 and civilian counterparts); and working independently while managing multiple priorities, adjusting to fluctuating assignments, and meeting changing deadlines. Additionally, the ideal candidate has exceptional verbal and written communication skills for conducting internal and external agency coordination, negotiation, and reconciliation of differences in a tactful manner. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. In-depth knowledge of NSICs organizations, missions, activities, capabilities. An understanding of the inter-relationships between the technical areas within the squadrons and related activities in other offices in NSIC, USSF, DIA, DoW, and partner IC agencies and contractors. 2. Knowledge of Intelligence Campaign Planning and joint strategic/operational planning concepts, principles, and processes are required. Extensive knowledge of the DAF and USSF capabilities-based planning process. 3. Knowledge and experience related to successful collaboration with internal and external partners to identify common goals and objectives. 4. Skills in applying technical knowledge to create operational or intelligence plans with high level of impact. 5. Significant experience and proven ability to work with, and communicate directly with, DoW senior leaders (O-6 to O-10 and civilian equivalents). 6. Ability to work independently; plan, organize, manage multiple priorities; adjust to fluctuating assignments and workloads; and meet deadlines.
