Summary
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility.This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 35 per week. Must be able to life and carry objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

Duties
Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Jan16, 2026; Jan 26, 2026, and closing on Feb 6, 2026. Announcement will close once position is filled.
The purpose of this position is to plan, develop, organize and manage the Leisure and Recreation programs to include the Outdoor Recreation essential program components, Air Force directed programs and other Community Services programs as directed. Within established policies and objectives; Coordinates and conducts a variety of recreation clinics and trips in support of a large outdoor adventure program. Provides operational oversight of the family recreation pool to include lifeguards and swim instructors. Performs as lifeguard when necessary. Implements higher-level directives, selects activities and services to be offered in addition to required basic programs. Schedules, publicizes and promotes various clinics, trips and other activities. Ensures compliance with all state and local agencies regulatory requirements. Analyzes all related costs and calculates prices. Accounts for all funds involved in the program and makes recommendations to maintain a solid financial condition of activities. Develops .and implements procedures to monitor, track and document program effectiveness and success. Utilizes various software programs in researching networking, exchanging information and establishing historical files of adventure program. Resolves customer issues and complaints. Monitors and tracks customer feedback to evaluate and then ensure quality service and client satisfaction. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and assists is the repairing and maintaining of all equipment in ODR. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of assigned employees and volunteers. Recruits, mentors, organizes, plans, and provides direction to volunteers. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance. Gives advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimand, recommending other action in more serious cases. Prepares employee work schedules and approves leave. Applies EEO concepts and requirements to maintain an appropriate working environment. Ensures appropriate safety and health practices are followed. Reports directly to the Leisure and Recreation Program Supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. In addition, specialized experience working in an Outdoor Adventure Recreational Activity to include knowledge of equipment, rules & procedures in that area are required. Certifications in Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace, & American Canoe Associations are desirable. Must be able to achieve a nationally-recognized Lifeguard Certification and Certified Pool Operator certification. Must have knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations; e.g. boater's safety and camping safety. Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office software programs to include Work, Excel and Power Point, are highly desirable. The work requires physical exertion and the incumbent must be able to bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 40 lbs. A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to maintain ServSafe certification. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI}. This is a drug testing designated position. This incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug use.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
