Job Description
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provides logistics technical advice/guidance to the installation and conduct oversight/surveillance/validation of contractor performance are compliant with requirements identified in Performance Work Statement in support of the Delta, mission goal and objectives.

Duties
- Serves as Electronic Technician Expert for highly complex, real-time critical system at the Eastern Range for manned and unmanned space launch as well as other range, missile, and rocket operations.
- Provides technical expertise in operation and maintenance of complex and sophisticated systems and equipment.
- System Support Expert. Acts as expert technical consultant to determine whether systems are operationally acceptable and safe within recommended guidelines.
- Provides technical guidance, training and assistance to other technicians and conducts on-the-job (OJT) training to apprentices in all phases of work.

- This position requires a pre-employment physical/medical examination. Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors. Use of both arms and legs are required.
- Indoor and outdoor work at equipment sites requires frequent walking, kneeling, bending, prolonged standing, working in strained and uncomfortable positions, and lifting/carrying moderate (15-44 lbs).
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, (Continued)
- national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. Subject to shift work, overtime, telephone, and pager standby (on-call) and/or may be required to work an uncommon tour of duty.
- Requires CPR certification and annual occupational exam and the wear of prescribed aural protection device.
- Outdoor work sometimes performed in inclement weather or limited light conditions.
- As a condition of employment, the employee must meet certification requirements found in the RAWS Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP). (Continued)
- The employee is required to maintain proficiency certification on an annual basis and is subject to validation of training certifications via the Quality Assurance evaluation program.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Technical and Medical Support Positions, Electronics Technical Series 0856.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
