Major Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH is searching for a Principal Intelligence Analyst for Space Launch to support NSIC (GG-0132-14). Description: The 1IAS Space Transportation Systems Flight (STS) is seeking a Principal Intelligence Analyst (PIA) to lead analysis on foreign space launch systems, infrastructure, and campaigns. A PIA leads multiple teams of analysts in intelligence production, builds yearly production plans, trains and mentors junior analysts, guides analytic priorities, and ensures all intelligence is produced according to Intelligence Community and NSIC standards. This position will focus on the INDOPACOM area of responsibility. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this position is an expert intelligence professional that possesses a positive attitude with skill in working with teams, well-versed in tradecraft, and the production of scientific and technical intelligence. They must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders regarding scope of requirements, deadlines, and analytic lines. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess an excellent understanding of space launch systems and operations to lead and guide analysis in these areas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: We are seeking a candidate that is equipped with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: - Strong leadership skills with excellent communication, works well with teams, provides forward-thinking ideas, proactive problem-solver, ability to multi-task, and a possesses a positive attitude - Excellent first-level intelligence product review skills to ensure products are IC and NSIC compliant - Knowledge of foreign space launch systems, infrastructure, and operations - Understands Aerospace engineering and technical concepts/applications - Strong planning skills to forecast team needs and align intelligence production with gaps - Excellent knowledge of the intelligence community directives, analytic methodologies, intelligence production, and NSIC production processes - Extensive knowledge of and skill in applying the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices within difficult and complex work assignments - Excellent mentorship and training skills with interest in building and developing others. - In-depth knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint force, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations - Advanced skill in writing clear, actionable intelligence products, and verbally communicating intelligence briefings to a variety of customers - In-depth understanding of the intelligence cycle to identify intelligence gaps and plan multi-source collection strategies - Ability to maintain control of classified material, quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively
