The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, technology development, warfighter capability enablers, systems integration, defense industrial base, and threat reduction to help shape existing and future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Material Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of technical support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers’ portfolios as well as horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. Additionally, DSG provides deep technical expertise to the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems.
The Golden Dome Solutions Office supports the Office of the Director of Golden Dome. We advise the government on cross-architectural trades, perform mission engineering and systems engineering activities, lead analyses to inform decision-making, and interface with partner offices to enable the government to move rapidly and deploy the next-generation missile defense shield for the United States.

We are looking for a Sr. Mission Engineering and Integration Project Lead to lead modeling and analysis efforts across the corporation and proactively assist the government with identifying and solving Mission and System of Systems challenges. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Chantilly, VA or Huntsville, AL.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and orchestrating teams in Mission Engineering and MBSE efforts in support of Golden Dome
- Capturing the needs and voice of the Warfighter to integrate into studies and analyses
- Framing problems and executing studies to ensure team efforts deliver maximum value to government customers
- Influencing key government stakeholders to adopt recommendations based on data
- Working with other Aerospace, government, and contractor engineering teams who reside in different physical locations and time zones, including VA, CO, AL, and CA.
- Ensuring the performance and capabilities of systems within the portfolio are adequate to meet the Golden Dome Program Office’s needs
- Collaborating with other organizations and orchestrating efforts to ensure maximum effectiveness
- Aligning system engineering rigor with rapid development practices
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Sr. Project Leader – Enterprise Systems Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent
- 12 or more years of experience in a relevant technical field with some experience related to missile defense and space systems
- Proven ability to prioritize, scope, plan, and execute multiple complex technical efforts
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to perform their best work
- Working understanding of MBSE and best practices
- Working understanding of DOW’s Mission Engineering process
- Working understanding of System of Systems Engineering principles and best practices
- Proven ability to apply Department-level or other high-level guidance in day-to-day work
- Substantive experience with the DOW acquisition lifecycle
- Willing to travel occasionally to travel to locations or customer site approx. 10-20%.
- Current and active TS/SCI government clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
How You Can Stand Out

- Advanced degree in a STEM field
- Hands-on experience with UAFML or SysML
- Hands-on experience using digital tools to conduct mission engineering and analysis
- Hands-on experience with military space systems and operational concepts
- Hands-on experience with missile defense systems
- Experience defining and implementing a strategic technical vision
- Ability to obtain necessary SAP level clearance

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
