THALES is a top-tier manufacturer of defense and security systems in the private sector. We are looking for a person to take on the role as Project Manager / Implementation Plan Manager for projects within the area of IP networking, VoIP, and/or RF communication. You will join a new recently established Program Organization in Thales Denmark.


Project Manager at THALES

In general the Thales PM role manages and coordinates internal and external (Customer, suppliers, sub-contractors, partners) dedicated teams and tasks. Coordinate and directs the project activities (including those relating to risks & opportunities) to reach completion of the project regarding its technical, industrial, financial, and customer satisfaction aspects.

This responsibility is exercised from signature of the contract through to the project completion period in terms of organisation, time frame, workload, budget, etc.


Overview of specific responsibilities


The job holder will be responsible to create and maintain the project implementation plan, taking into account internal milestones and planning, as well as the customer dependencies and the 3rd party deliverables and 3rd party dependencies.


As a result, the job holder also communicates the detailed plan to the THALES engineering stakeholders related to all stakeholders and dependencies.


One important task is to identify inconsistencies between customer or stakeholders’ milestones versus milestones of the THALES project(s), and subsequent communicate this internally and to external stake holders when needed.


The job holder’s responsibility is exercised within international complex projects involving

  • the development of solutions that may include major innovations or technological breakthroughs,
  • a wide variety of stakeholders.

Description of Key Activities


The job holder is responsible for:


  • Building and maintaining the implementation plan based on:
    • The results of customer meetings, technical sessions, workgroups with customer.
    • Inputs from 3rd party industries stakeholders involved
    • Other programs milestones from customers parallel projects.
  • Reporting to customer the plan during meetings and workshops, identifying the inconsistencies, and proposing to customer the relevant action plan, tasks, and orders to be placed by customer to various stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Ethics Code and the Code of Conduct in the context of the above-mentioned missions.

Working Relationships


The job holder reports to Thales program manager / project manager and collaborates with:

  • THALES project team (engineering, architects, program office etc.)
  • Customer’s program management team
  • Customer’s stakeholders.
  • Project managers and technical managers from the different sub-systems stakeholders contributing to the THALES program.
  • Other relevant stakeholders (industry 3rdparties, procurement, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Professional Experience


-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Professional Bachelor's degree, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized university. A project management certification/study with an alternative educations, such as Data Technician, is accepted as well.

-The job position requires experience  in the field of project management in an international context.

-The position requires the following knowledge and behaviors:

  • Proactivity to gather inputs and build upon a consistent plan
  • Ability to share results clearly and in a structured manner, adapted to the audience
  • Ability to work collaboratively, internationally 
  • Ability to manage technical and organizational complexity.  
  • Technical expertise in engineering (networks, radios, computing)
  • Knowledge of engineering processes.  
  • Ability to plan, identify technical risks and opportunities and execute action plans.  

Security and language

  • Language: Fluent in Danish and English. French is an advantage, but not required.
  • Security clearance: The candidate must be able to obtain security clearance.
