Thales’ Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) division creates, develops and deploys air traffic management systems that are critical for safe aircraft movement. With products covering 40% of the world’s airspace, we enable the safe take-off and landing of 2 in 3 aircrafts globally.

Our Graduate Program focuses on developing early career talent to help us deliver tomorrows high-tech solutions. Over an 18-month development program you will engage in on-the-job training, mentoring, a graduate project and structured learning modules.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Located in Melbourne at World Trade Centre (CBD) on Wurundjeri land.

  • Support a team that creates the foundation of our air traffic management system.

  • Play a key role in delivering Thales’ airspace projects.

  • Work on the automation of the SOE (Standard Operating Environment) and infrastructure/platform deployment using Infrastructure as a Code.

  • Deployment and upgrade of the platform SOE

  • Read and review architecture diagrams.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or a related discipline (graduated by end of 2026).

  • Linux is your operating system of choice, and you are knowledgeable on Python and Ansible (Infrastructure as a Code).

  • You have a home lab that you experiment within or completed an internship or related technical projects at university.

  • Willingness to learn, ask questions and the confidence to offer solutions.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail orientated and organised.

AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY

A Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
