The mission of Thales International in Regions is to foster and manage the growth of Thales' presence across all countries within these Regions for all Thales Group activities in the aerospace, transport, space, defense and security domains. In this context, the Regional Hub supports Thales Operational Units in exporting their solutions to customers throughout the Regions. Business activities are managed through local dedicated organizations, including representative offices, branches, subsidiaries and joint ventures (JVs).
The Financial Analyst will oversee the financial assessment and qualification of Business Advisors (BAs) and Key Industrial Partners (KIPs) across Europe and Latin America. Operating within the framework of Thales Group procedures and governance standards, the Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting informed business decisions through robust financial analysis, risk assessment and compliance monitoring.
This position is based full-time at the Regional Hub's offices in Madrid, with occasional travel to countries within the Europe and Latin America Regions.
We are now looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Madrid:
Working in close contact with Finance, Legal, Business Development and Operational teams, the Job Holder will be responsible for, in particular:
Analyzing the financial statements of Business Advisors and Key Industrial Partners to assess their financial health, compliance status and overall risk exposure.
Reviewing and interpreting audited and unaudited financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Accounts and Cash Flow Statements, across Europe and Latin America.
Evaluating solvency, liquidity, profitability and operational efficiency through the use of key financial indicators and ratios.
Assessing counterparty creditworthiness and identifying financial risks while recommending appropriate mitigation measures, such as payment terms, guarantees or additional safeguards.
Preparing financial analysis reports and executive memoranda for senior management and CFO review, including recommendations aimed at reducing identified risks.
Supporting qualification and due diligence processes by providing independent financial assessments of potential and existing partners.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial profiles of strategic partners within internal databases and reporting tools.
Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to support partnership strategies and business development initiatives.
Supporting internal and external audits by providing financial documentation, analysis and responses to audit-related requests.
Ensuring strict compliance with internal procedures, governance standards and financial qualification processes applicable to Business Advisors and Key Industrial Partners.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
The candidate must have a minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting or financial analysis within an international environment.
Previous experience in a leading professional services firm (e.g. PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG or BDO) is highly valued.
A strong command of English and Spanish is required; French would be considered an asset.
Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements, assess financial performance and identify potential risks.
Autonomy, meticulousness, self-confidence, and strong teamwork capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills within a multicultural and matrix-based environment.
Excellent organizational skills and cultural awareness of the Europe and Latin America Regions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
