To support the growth of Thales’ Security business in Taiwan, the Business Development Manager is responsible for promoting Thales’ solutions to key stakeholders across central government, city governments and large enterprises, building a pipeline of sales opportunities for integrated security systems for governmental agencies, critical infrastructures, smart cities and cybersecurity. He/She will also be responsible for identifying local partners and build collaboration.
The position is based in Taipei Neihu office.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and end-users, driving the growth of Thales’ portfolio in Integrated Security Systems, Critical Infrastructure Security, Smart and Safe Cities, and Cybersecurity.
- Identify and anticipate needs in these domains, proactively promoting Thales’ products and solutions within customer organisation to support the generation of future contracts.
- Establish and nurture industrial and commercial partnerships within the local industry ecosystem to strengthen Thales’ market presence and collaborative opportunities.
- Actively contribute to the identification and qualification of new business opportunities. Define and implement winning strategies supported by actionable plans. Participate in the bid process and tender reviews to maximise success rates.
- Provide insights on market trends, competitive landscape, business risks and potential opportunities. Maintain and update business pipeline data, in coordination with Exporting Units.
- Develop and execute Business Development Plans that defines key priorities and market opportunities, while collaborating closely with Bid Managers, Portfolio Managers and Product teams to create value-driven offerings for customers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the full Security portfolio to identify opportunities across all Business Lines.
Requirements:
- Engineering/Business Degree and/or experience in military with operational, technical or planning role
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, bid or sales.
- Strong background in Security, Critical Infrastructure Security, Smart Cities and Cybersecurity, and business knowledge (technical and operational) in these domains.
- Significant experience in complex business dealings with geographically dispersed internal and external stakeholders.
- Has experience or managing customers in Asia.
- Experience with bidding will be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills. Proficiency Mandarin (mandatory) and English (spoken and good writing skills).
- Agile and able to adapt quickly to changing environment.
- Ability to listen, communicate and interact with key decision makers & officials.
- Possess strategic vision and operational skills to be able to influence solutions.
- Adhere to the highest standards of conduct and ethics.
