Inside the Ground & Mission Operation Team, we are looking for a Ground Segment Operations Engineer to manage following tasks/activities:
• Monitoring of the functional status of the subsystems of the "Ground" component of the MPS
• First and Second level SW preventive and corrective maintenance
• First and Second level HW preventive and corrective maintenance
• Support to the Development and Engineer Team for the anomaly analysis
• SW deployment in case of Microservice architecture
• SW patch update in case of Virtual Machine
• Operative system update
• Development, validation and maintenance of specific operational script eventually identified from operational and maintenance needs
• Generation of operational reports, as applicable for the various Missions
• Support to the preparation and execution of the Non-Regression / System Validation test campaigns
• System and Operational Requirements analysis
• SW configuration control
• Contributing to project documentation (manuals, architectural drawing, user stories and test documents).

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Skills & Experience

• At least 1-2 years of professional experience in structured and complex industry environment.

• Strong knowledge of:

• Unix and Linux SW Operating Systems;

• Shell scripting (bash, tcsh)

• Relational (SQL, NoSQL, ...) and Non Relational DBs;

• Cloud Computing Architecture & Virtual Environments;

• Microservices Architectures.

• Proficiency with:

  • Angular

  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JSON, Python

• Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)

• Familiarity with build and DevOps tools (Maven, Jenkins, Kafka)

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Ability to use browser debugging tools

• Understanding of UX/UI fundamentals

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in team environments

• Availability for short-term assignments abroad

• System engineering standards for Space Mission Ground Segments;

• Cybersecurity concepts (technical and operational)

• System administration and networking

• Familiarity with:

  • System maintenance (HW/SW)

  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) concepts

• English proficiency (minimum B1 level)
