The Component Make Center 814 Composites factory includes product and process focused value streams that fabricate and assemble subassemblies and missile sections in support of the RTX portfolio of weapons to the war fighter. Emphasizing mission assurance by encouraging initiative at all levels, the Components Make Center manages customer commitments through quality, cost, and schedule execution.
The Value Stream Manager (VSM) is the Integrated Project Team leader within a production manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will report to the Factory Manager and be accountable for the daily management and direction of a cross functional team which includes the Production Support team (ME, IE, QE, PC) and Production engineering support team. The VSM will be tasked to generate, maintain, and execute clear operational schedules, priorities, goals while collaborating with functional management to allow for continuous manufacturing of line-flow or end-item products. Additionally, the VSM will have accountability for production, depot deliveries, failure investigation and triage, direction to production support, prioritization of design engineering support and safety within their factory area.
This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. The candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in both manufacturing and technical leadership roles.
This is a second shift position.
What You Will Do
- Direct supervision and responsibility for 15+ bargaining unit employees and additional support/technical personnel.
- Collaboration and communication with upstream and downstream VSMs and leadership.
- Utilization of knowledge of manufacturing principles, manufacturing support team roles and responsibilities and manufacturing systems in support of initiatives, projects, improvements, and efforts.
- Overseeing and leading the generation, development and sustainment of product focused processes, tooling, and equipment architecture.
- Deploy and maintain lean transformation 1.5 activities in conjunction with the value stream manager and support teams
- Deploy and maintain CORE structure, concepts and execution including but not limited to tier accountability and continuous improvement
- Personnel performance input for all related functions and career development of team members including coaching and mentoring.
- Perform a wide variety of sequencing, planning, scheduling, coordinating, failure triage support and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow.
- Compiling labor forecasts and Estimates at Compete (EACs) for the support and touch employees.
- Strategic planning development for short term execution as well as long range planning
- Define and Execute priorities relating to safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Interact with support engineering, supply chain, and quality with respect to project schedules.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of five (5) years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum three (3) years' experience.
- Experience with either manufacturing or operations.
- Supervisory or managerial experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a Composites factory and an understanding of associated processes
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
- Previous experience leading a direct team with specific deadlines, requirements or deliverables
- Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial engineering practices
- Knowledge of quality requirements relating to manufacturing environments
- Superior communication skills
- Understanding of sequencing of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations in relation to similar type of products or processes

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
