Job Description:
The Space Test Solutions department supporting the Mission Solutions & Payloads sub-strategic business unit is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The Space Test Solutions department designs a combination of EO/IR and RF test platforms. 

What You Will Do:

• Define software requirements for test equipment of space payloads

• Design test system software architecture to ensure robust operations

• Implement software code to provide test capability on hardware with high-speed interfaces

• Integrate software on electrical, optical and mechanical systems in addition to engineering units and space payloads

• Create test plans for test suite validation

• Conduct test equipment validation

• Support test equipment through payload testing completion

What You Will Learn:

• Space EO/IR and RF Test Solution architecture

• IV&V approaches on different categories of programs from IRAD to ACAT1

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience. 

• Experience with LabVIEW software development implementing high speed interfaces (FPGA, sRIO, SERDES. etc.)

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in test system development on complex systems

• Experience with test plans and/or procedures.

• Experience with test related reviews

• Experience in laboratory environments

• Experience supporting HW & SW integration, verification and validation

• Experience troubleshooting complex problems and finding cost effective solutions

• Exposure to space system testing and requirements

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
