The Naval Power Strategic Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within the Shipboard Missiles serving the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) NATO Consortium Production Program. This position reports to the Production Contracts Lead, Sr. Manager, for ESSM, working alongside a team of 2-5 other contract professionals, who support the entire ESSM portfolio.
This position will provide the necessary contracts support for our USG Production Team and External Customers, as they continue to execute continuous product production. This role is a general support centered around USG contractual actions and related proposal support. The successful candidate may also be asked to provide direct support to classified contracting activities as required.
Responsibilities To Anticipate:
- Possess and use subject matter expertise in USG contracting.
- General understanding of IDIQ Contracting, Cost Type Contracting, and Fixed Price Contracting.
- Support the ESSM Production team by reviewing and executing contractual documents, within delegation limits.
- Interface with cross functional partners to support program execution.
- Interpret existing contract documents to answer Program Manager and Program Cross Functional questions, and complete contracting taskings.
- Review Request for Proposals to determine applicability against current or prior agreements; scope requirements; production impacts.
- Interpret company proposal data to support review of risks and opportunities; develop submittal packages; submit proposals to external customers; answer customer questions related to proposals in conjunction with program team input; respond to customer requests related to proposals and negotiate price where applicable and appropriate with support from Contracts Leadership.
- Investigate and resolve contractual matters by applying critical thinking, gathering detailed information, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders while applying innovative contracting approaches.
- Willingness to partner with Raytheon Global Trade to ensure import/export compliance within the contractual framework.
- Some travel, both domestic and international, is anticipated, up to 20%.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
- Experience working in Contracts, Subcontracts, Procurement, Estimating/Pricing, Operations and / or Finance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Direct engagement with external customers for contracts support and direct contracts negotiations
- Experience with U.S. Government contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFARS)
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Active transferable Secret clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
