Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician – Hand Hone- Weekday Nights Shift. As the Machine Shop Technician – Hand Hone working in the Surface Finishing department, you will be responsible for performing various honing duties in support of production requirements.

Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada

Shift Hours – Weekday Nights – Monday - Thursday - (8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.)

What You Will Do

  • Perform hand hone, polish, v-hone and horizontal hone work from drawings and general instructions

  • This position will be predominantly focused in hand hone

  • Document actions in support of quality logs and communicates all discrepancies in machining to supervision

  • Work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings

  • Perform deburring, filing, polishing and cleaning of landing gear components as specified

  • Work in a safe team-oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation and execution of LEAN principles

  • Multi-task within the cell.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications We Require:

  • Typically High school diploma, with 1-3 years of previous Manual Machining experience.

  • Experience in measuring equipment and tools.

  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior hand hand experience

  • Experience in using Matrix and reading & interpreting latest MPS/APS

  • Experience in micrometers / Vernier's

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner

  • Verbal and written communication skills (English)

  • Willingness to train and multi-task within the cell
