Flight Software Engineering Summer 2026 Intern

$3,500–$7,000/month

Job Description

As a Flight Software Engineering Intern, you will work directly with Reditus Space’s engineering team to design, develop, and test the flight software of the ENOS vehicle. You’ll gain hands-on experience with the full lifecycle of flight software development, from initial design through integrated spacecraft Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test embedded flight software for satellite systems
  • Implement telemetry and command handling protocols
  • Debug and troubleshoot flight software issues
  • Collaborate with engineers to define and implement flight software interfaces
  • Maintain clear software documentation and utilize version control processes
  • Support system-level testing and validation of flight software components

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (senior undergraduate or graduate level)
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Knowledge of spacecraft systems and operations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with flight software frameworks (e.g., NASA cFS, F Prime)
