Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Team (SEIT) Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The SEIT Lead manages a team of cross-disciplinary engineers and reports to the SEIT IPT’s Chief Engineer and Program Director. This role is responsible for providing technical direction, overseeing cost, schedule, and technical execution, and delivering objective-oriented leadership to the SEIT team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute program-level SEIT functions, including Safety, Human Factors, Cost Engineering, and Configuration & Data Management.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute capability verification.
- Prepare, coordinate, and brief SEIT execution status and risks at program meetings.
- Conduct technical assessments for incoming changes to evaluate SEIT impacts.
- Execute trade studies with coordination across engineering disciplines.
- Maintain and update SEIT process documentation.
- Manage the SEIT team, including CAM responsibilities and day-to-day leadership.
- Execute Joint Verification Review Board (JVRB) process to ensure capability verification and completion of contractual requirements.
- Serve as SEIT representative for cross-program coordination at strategic program meetings, including leadership scrum meetings.
- Coordinate SEIT work with Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
- Brief program leadership on SEIT status through weekly PMRs.
- Brief customer counterparts on SEIT accomplishments at quarterly Incremental Design Reviews (IDRs).
- Coordinate SEIT work with suppliers, including SDRLs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 year of related professional/military experience.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced STEM Degree.
- Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Cameo or Rhapsody) to model large systems with multiple developers.
- Previous Systems Engineering leadership experience.
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Experience in training systems, training courseware, or training course development.
