Founding Engineer

We are looking for a Founding Engineer to join us in laying the foundation for the technical infrastructure of Bloom. Depending on the fit, you may become our CTO. You'll be shaping the future of our company and our vision of unlocking the creator economy for software.

Core traits about you:

• Your eyes light up when you think about coding on Sunday morning
• You have high agency and care about builders/people trying to build mobile apps
• You are a fast learner, with an open mind
• You are very familiar with Typescript

Bonus points:

• You have worked with (coding) agents extensively
  • Model Finetuning
  • Evals
  • Know the AI SDK in and out
• You have extensive experience with Swift/Kotlin/Expo/React Native and/or building mobile apps
• You are a React or Typescript beast
• You have experience with Convex
• You have worked at a YC startup before or founded a startup yourself
• You’ve built something cool with Bloom

Open problems:

• Build a reliable/world-class coding agent that builds full-stack apps
  • How do we imbue design taste?
  • How do we evaluate our agent?
  • How do we make our agent fast?
  • How do we reliably build features like auth, payments, etc?
  • How do we deal with data migrations?
  • How do we fine tune our agent?
  • How do we automatically test the quality of the app?
• Build tools that give users granular control and understanding of front-end, backend and back-office (application data)
• Build tools that give users insights on how their apps are being used
• Build internal tools to help us operate efficiently (internal agents) and to understand how our app is being used.
• Build tools that let people share native mobile apps easily
