Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is currently seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Process level 4 to support on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location.
This position will be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work opportunities will be available for this position.
Designs and plans layout for such processes as hardening, washing, laminating, etching, engraving, polishing, painting, plating, and other material-processing operations. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for cutting, shaping, and otherwise preparing basic material, exercising judgment in compromising between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity. Establishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment. Will support plant operations/equipment and have the following qualifications/abilities.
Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages
Design, program, test, and resolve faults for PLC-related architecture for automated material/process applications
Work with onsite teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
Analyze and generate creative solutions for new system designs or redesigns of existing systems
Act as the SME for all PLC related automation issues
Provide critical PLC support for the installation and startup of new systems
Ability to work independently
Qualifications
Education: STEM degree(Electrical Engineering Preferred. B.S. with 8+ years relevant experience OR M.S. with 6+ years.
Proficient in Allen Bradley PLCs
