Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Engineer NDT to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance organization working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment. Primary focus is to perform in-field Non-destructive Inspection of aircraft which includes International travel required (Up to 80%).
Responsible for the inspection composite aerospace components, and other energetic and non-energetic articles. This position is responsible for developing and implementing unique nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures. Works with design, project and quality engineers through the development process to select and implement the best NDT method to ensure product quality at lowest cost.
NDT Engineer Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s STEM degree with at least 3 years of experience as a Ultrasonic Level III or High school Diploma and 12 years of NDI experience
Current Ultrasonic Level III certification
Experience with multiple NDI methods
Experience in writing techniques and procedures
Ability to obtain and maintain Active DoD Clearance per business requirements AND the ability to obtain Special Program Access
Must be able to work any shift
Valid US Passport
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders
A minimum of a level 2 NDI certification in Eddy Current, Thermography, or Radiography
Experience with UT Studio+
Experience inspecting and analyzing advanced composite work
Phased Array Ultrasonic experience
AUSS Mobile experience and/or other Automated inspection experience
DoD Secret Clearance
Special Program Access
