Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer Level 5 will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs that focus on missile defense, space, and intelligence and will support various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams in evaluating the mission performance of military systems.
Essential Functions:
- This position will specifically focus on the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
- Experience using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) to inform the development of systems along the left side of the “systems engineering vee”
- Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets
- Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers
- Experience mentoring and developing junior-level engineers
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering
- Experience using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
- Experience with Ansys ModelCenter
- Experience with SIMDIS
- Ability to support development of systems engineering models utilizing SysML and Cameo
- Experience using agile development methodologies
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Graduate Certificate
- INCOSE ASEP (or above) certification
- Object Modeling Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder Fundamental Certification
