Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) sector is seeking a Manager Systems Engineering 2 for the Rushmore D-Site team located in Aurora, Colorado.
This role entails leadership of a cross-disciplinary operations team both technically and as their functional manager within a customer furnished facility performing operations and maintenance of a complex system. This leadership role is relied upon to develop and maintain operational procedures, schedule outages, develop and conduct training, drive execution excellence and corrective actions, when required, train and develop talent, build strong teams and perform functional management duties. This person must be able to thrive in a dynamic team environment, working with multiple subcontractors in a customer-facing role demonstrating strong collaboration skills.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Managing members of the Rushmore D-Site Operations team
Driving execution and scheduling of 24/7 operations with periodic special activities
Effective collaboration across IPTs to innovate and improve CONOPs and introduce efficiencies
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 8 years of engineering experience OR Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 6 years of engineering experience
Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.
Active in scope DoD Top Secret Clearance OR SCI Access at time of application
Ability to obtain/pass CI Poly Examination prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication, collaboration, leadership and team building skills in a operations setting
Experience working with a cross-disciplinary, multi-contractor team
Experience in complex systems in an operational environment
Ability to interface effectively with senior management, peers, employees and customers.
Excellent interpersonal skills
