Northrop Grumman is seeking an HVAC Mechanic Level 3 to to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals! This position will be on site supporting our facility in Salt Lake City, UT.
This hands-on position requires knowledge and experience in repairs and maintenance of facilities and/or machines and equipment. The role is fully on-site; hybrid or remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment (AHUs, DX Systems, Exhaust Fans, Chillers, Cooling Towers, VAVs, Heaters, Boilers, Coolers, Freezers).
Conduct routine, periodic preventative maintenance on equipment and facility to establish optimal operation and to schedule necessary repairs to prevent breakdowns.
Safely and properly use hand and power tools to troubleshoot, test, inspect, and repair machines and equipment.
Review and follow blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Install, service, modify, rebuild, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
Monitor and maintain centralized HVAC building automation systems, including pneumatic systems and direct digital control
Document and maintain records for the Maintenance Department, including preventive maintenance activities and service reports.
Be physically capable of working in high places from ladders, able to lift over 50 lbs., and follow exacting written and verbal instructions.
Work outdoors in hot and cold environment.
Work on an on-call basis and handle responsibilities assigned by management.
Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Strong Interpersonal Skills.
Ability to work 9/80A Schedule
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, and 4 years of experience in HVAC, chillers, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Experience working in one or more of the maintenance trades: machine and equipment repair, machine controls, and/or electrical.
Familiarity with electrical/electronic components related to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Experience working with commercial HVAC equipment.
Must possess a Valid Driver’s License.
Must possess a Universal EPA 608 Certification.
Must possess a Natural Gas Technician Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
Strong commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills in relation to HVAC systems.
Knowledge of building automation control systems.
