Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Perform Static testing including, but not limited to Rocket Motor Lot acceptance tests, subscale motor propellant tests, electrical function tests, etc. on any program within the Northrop Grumman suite of products. Follow, ASTM, Military Spec, and internal procedures to prepare, set-up, and perform Static Fire testing. Assist in development and creation of test plans and reports, including data analysis. Understand and follow the calibration of instrumentation used within the group. Set-up and run the onsite data acquisition systems and supporting test equipment. Perform data reduction and review for accuracy. Interface and work with customers (internal and external). Provide efficient written and verbal communication to team members and customers. Work with core team and support branches to adhere to plant schedule. Knowledge of test instrumentation and data acquisition systems to provide support, as needed, in other test areas in the group.
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics) as needed. Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. Will conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
Other work duties include cable management, standard use cable repair, soldering, instrumentation build (hands on work), calibration records tracking, Device Under Test (DUT) instrumentation, on hand inventories management, troubleshooting before/during/after testing, organizational skills.
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Tech 2:
- High School Diploma/GED with two years of industry-related experience
- Ability to lift 30lbs
- Detail oriented
- Instrumentation and Calibration knowledge
- Intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visual Basic)
- Hands on work with Data Collection systems
Preferred Qualifications for an Engineer Tech 2:
- Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visual Basic)
- Advanced knowledge of Data Collection systems
- Instrumentation and Calibration Experience
