Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Director, Programs 2 and Business Unit Deputy to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on our MDC2 Business Unit. This role will be based onsite in Melbourne, FL.
In this role the candidate will report directly to the Vice President of the MDC2 Business Unit and be capable of standing in as required for the VP on all internal company and external customer reviews. The program leader is responsible for leading all phases of the program life cycle and outcomes to achieve financial commitments.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Cultivating customer relationships
- Developing strategies to expand contracts and obtain customer funding
- Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives
- Delivering presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders
- Driving predictable program performance, including regular measurement and management of key performance metrics
- Identifying, allocating and managing program resources, including workforce planning
- Participating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions
- Developing Annual Operating Plans (AOP) and Long‑Range Strategic Plans (LRSP) inclusive of Capital / NCTA required to achieve the AOP / LRSP
- Development and adherence to program, business, and technical baselines, including use of Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activities
- Development and adherence to master plans and schedules
- Conducting thorough risk, issue, and opportunity management
- Managing Government/customer supplied property or information (GFE, CFE, etc.)
- Managing suppliers to meet program objectives
- Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9+ years) of related experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7+ years) of related experience
- Program Management experience inclusive of capture, development, production, and sustainment programs
- P&L on sales of $100M per year as a PM
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts
- At minimum, a current active DoD Secret level clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and advanced training in program management
- 12-15 years of Program Management experience inclusive of capture, development, production, and sustainment programs
- The ability to address uncertainty through an organized and analytical forward-looking approach
- Experience synchronizing work across geographically dispersed sites and external suppliers
- Experience with U.S. Naval Aviation Programs
- Experience with International Program Execution
- Experience with New Programs Capture (Both Domestic and International)
- Proven track record delivering large, complex programs on time, on budget, and to performance specifications
- Current TS/SCI and Special Program Access (PAR)
