Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD is seeking an Associate Systems Test Engineer to support on-site test bench operations for the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) of a production Space Payload program.

Responsibilities include executing test scripts for the verification of Software, Hardware, and System requirements for applications in Space.Β  Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) systems, especially RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS; programming and scripting skills; and, working knowledge of RF test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, etc.) is desired.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with at least 1 year of relevant experience with integration and test or operation and maintenance of sensor systems, ideally RADAR

  • Willingness to work dedicated 1st shift (5 AM - 1 PM, Mon - Fri), or 2nd shift (1 PM - 9 PM, Mon - Fri), or 3rd shift (9 PM - 5 AM, Sun night - Fri morning); and occasional weekends as needed

  • No clearance required to start

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance and SCI approval/access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with RADAR and/or ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) integration and test

  • Experience with Space Payload or Space Vehicle (Satellite) integration and test in a clean room environment

  • Programming in C or MATLAB for understanding and editing/improving existing code

  • Scripting in Python or Tcl for understanding and editing/improving existing scripts

  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket

  • An active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,700.00 - $109,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
