Northrop Grumman Defense Systems currently has an opening for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position is located in Huntsville, AL and will support Advanced Programs.
What you will get to do:
The selected Sr. Principal (Level 4) Systems Engineer will successfully:
- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.
- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).

This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
- Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 8 years of experience; 6 years of experience with a Masters’ degree; or 4 years of experience with a PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 2 years of experience with DoD weapon system support system conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to design analysis cycles, cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-design discipline integration.
- 2 years of experience with ballistic missile, cruise missile, and/or weapon support system design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
- Operational experience with Navy Strategic Weapons Facilities.
- Experience with Navy Programs and submarine operations
- Experience with digital design, model based engineering, and modeling and simulation tools and processes
- Experience with nuclear hardened strategic systems
- Experience with Directed Trade Studies
