SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Developer (m/f/d)

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

As an SAP S/4HANA Developer, you will be a key member of the SAP Engineering crew. Your task:

• ensure that our Private Cloud landscape is equipped with robust, efficient, secure, and scalable custom developments.
• You will collaborate closely with functional experts, architects, integration teams, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into clean, stable, and maintainable SAP solutions.
• You will influence technical design decisions, contribute to development standards, and support the delivery of a high‑reliability SAP S/4 platform.

Key Outcomes

• High-quality SAP developments delivered on time: Custom code, enhancements, CDS views, OData services, interfaces, and extensions developed according to best practices and performance guidelines.
• Stable S/4HANA Private Cloud system performance: Optimized developments that leverage HANA capabilities and ensure system stability.
• Seamless integration across surrounding systems: High-quality integration objects (APIs, IDocs, RAP, events) implemented and tested end‑to‑
• Reliable support for functional teams and project delivery: Technical expertise provided for fit-gap analysis, solution design, defect resolution, and release support.
• Full compliance with SAP BTP and clean-core principles: Developments aligned with extensibility guidelines, cloud development frameworks, and upgrade-proof principles.

Core Competencies

• Strong ABAP & ABAP OO development expertise: Including enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, forms, and performance optimization.
• SAP S/4HANA development skills: CDS views, OData services, HANA SQL, RAP, and modern extension patterns.
• Integration know-how: Experience with API Hub, BTP, REST/OData, SOAP, and event-driven communication.
• Clean Core & Cloud Mindset: Understanding extensibility frameworks, upgrade-safe development, and cloud lifecycle management.
• Technical design skills: Ability to translate requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Analytical problem solving: Diagnosing issues across end-to-end scenarios and identifying root causes.
• Collaboration & Communication: Able to work cross-functionally with architects, functional consultants, and business stakeholders.

Qualification Checklist

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Aerospace, manufacturing, or regulated industry experience is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

• 3+ years development experience in SAP ABAP and SAP S/4HANA
• Strong hands-on knowledge of:
• ABAP OO
• CDS Views & OData Services
• AMDP / HANA SQLScript
• RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
• Fiori/UI5
• Familiarity with SAP Private Cloud deployment models and transport processes.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented
• Team player in a multi-disciplinary project environment
• Ability to work in agile and hybrid project setups

Spoken Languages:

• Proficiency in English is essential.
• German language can be beneficial depending on the organization's need.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with SAP BTP services is a plus.
