Senior Group Accountant & Accounting Process Excellence (m/f/d)

Mission Brief

In this key role, you will be responsible not only for compliant group accounting, but also for actively driving the standardization, digitalization and governance of accounting processes across the group. You combine strong accounting expertise with process and systems thinking and take ownership of critical end-to-end processes, in particular Purchase-to-Pay, while contributing significantly to the further development of the SAP S/4HANA-based finance landscape.

Your Role in Our Space Mission

Group Accounting & Statutory Reporting

• Overall responsibility for group accounting
• Development and enforcement of accounting policies and guidelines
• Management and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
• Coordination with external auditors and advisors
• Quality assurance for monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings

Accounting Processes & Process Ownership

• Analysis, standardization and optimization of accounting processes group-wide
• End-to-end ownership of key processes, especially invoice processing and Purchase-to-Pay
• Design and implementation of digital invoice receipt and approval workflows
• Identification and implementation of automation opportunities in accounting
• Establishment of accounting process governance, standards and controls

Systems, SAP & Governance

• Functional responsibility for SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI)
• Implementation of IFRS as standard ledger in SAP S/4HANA and subsidiaries
• Key user role for SAP FI
• Integration of SAP and workflow / invoice solutions
• Definition of KPIs and accounting process performance metrics
• Participation in group-wide finance and system projects

Qualification Checklist

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in statutory and operational accounting
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA) or comparable practical experience is a strong advantage
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA FI
• Experience with digital accounting workflows and accounting process optimization
• Ability to work independently with high level of ownership and accountability
• Fluent in German and English
