
Junior Composite Technician (m/f/d)
Job Description
Mission Brief
The Junior Composite Technician is an entry-level, hands-on role focused on preparing materials and performing composite layup, vacuum‑bagging, curing, bonding, trimming, drilling, and finishing under the guidance of senior staff.
They read basic technical drawings and work instructions, follow strict safety and FOD‑prevention practices, and maintain tooling, equipment, and environmental controls.They document process data and assist with in‑process inspections, nonconformity containment, and rework to meet quality standards.
With a strong learning mindset and attention to detail, the role supports the safe, efficient, high‑quality manufacture and repair of composite structures and components while building proficiency in modern materials and processes.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
- Execute complete CFRP manufacturing process from pre-preg lamination to final bonding and assembly
- Support Manufacturing Engineering in tool design and procurement
- Support the manufacturing of assembly / bonding jigs
- Preparation of test specimens and precision/ sensitive parts
- Communicate with suppliers and external partners
- Assist composite manufacturing & machining technology procurement
- Work cross functionally with related departments (e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Testing, Structures Design)
- Continuously improve already existing procedures and processes
Qualification Checklist
- Educational background as composite technician required
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or repair of composite structures
- Hands-on experience with composite bonding and machining processes
- Experience with operating a wide variety of hand and power tools and shop tools
- Experience with composite manufacturing processes (prepreg layup, infusion technologies, etc.)
- Ability to follow manufacturing documents like production orders and ply books
- High level of self-reliance with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously
- Humble and willing to go out of your way to help others
- Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
- Fluent English. German is highly preferred

- Experience operating industrial scale composite production machines
- Experience with assembly and bonding jig design
