Why this role matters:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll design and build the systems that plan and optimize the operation of ICEYE’s SAR satellite fleet. Your work ensures that satellites capture the right data at the right time, directly enabling mission-critical insights for governments and commercial customers. You will solve complex algorithmic and optimization challenges constrained by both physics and business priorities, contributing to ICEYE’s mission to become the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate scalable fleet planning systems for satellite operations

• Develop algorithms and optimization logic for scheduling image acquisitions, communications, and data downlink

• Build and maintain high-performance, low-latency distributed systems in production

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ground station scheduling and external service providers

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade software systems

• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages

• Proven experience designing and operating high-performance distributed systems

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, containerization, or GitOps workflows

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to haves:

• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and modern cloud infrastructure, as well as on-prem deliveries

• Background in fleet management, scheduling, or optimization problems

Base salary range for this position is 5 500 - 7 500 € per month (gross), depending on experience, and will be negotiated individually.
