As we continue expanding both our operations and spacecraft platforms with more and more demanding mission requirements there is a need for an engineering professional who has extensive experience from mechanical engineering, system integration as well as manufacturing and qualification of space hardware.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring our engineering solutions will meet the stringent Aerospace quality requirements in terms of structural integrity, reliability and efficient and cost effective manufacturing. You will be an important part of our Spacecraft engineering community and help ICEYE continue building the world’s leading SAR satellite constellation.

Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to trade studies, design reviews (PDR/CDR), and verification and production qualification documentation (PRR/ERR)
- Ensure smooth, seamless and on time product delivery, from concept to qualification
- Contribute to the continuous improvements of our current products
- Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, AIT engineering and QA department to ensure our products are compliant with launch and on-orbit environments
- Collaborate with system and subsystem engineers to define requirements for new products
- Collaborate with both internal and external engineering teams and AIT teams during product integration and build to validate the engineered solutions are meeting the set requirements and targets. Support issue resolution if and where necessary
- When needed, engage in broader spacecraft mechanical design tasks, providing cross-disciplinary support
Requirements
Must haves:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or related industries
- Experience in designing satellites structures, subsystems or similar complex electromechanical systems
- Understanding of mechanical stress, vibration, and thermal effects on space structures & mechanisms
- Ability to work cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ECSS, NASA, MIL
- Strong team working, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Nice to haves:
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems for configuration control
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems assembly, integration, and testing
- Prior experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft environments (SpaceX, Rocket Lab, ESA, etc.)
