The Mission of the AIT Engineer

ICEYE is seeking an AIT (Assembly, Integration & Testing) Engineer focused on the production of satellites at our Valencia location. This is a hands-on technical role, ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in systems engineering, electronics, and software, who is ready to help create production processes for a brand new satellite design while contributing directly to AIT activities.

Who We Are

ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy – day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits.

As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring (including oil-spill detection), and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience.

ICEYE operates internationally with offices in Finland, Poland, Spain, Japan, the UAE, Greece, and the US. The company has more than 900 employees, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Expected Outcomes

  • Execute hands-on satellite assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities for satellites
  • Act as a technical point of contact for subsystem integration, ensuring manufacturability, testability, and configuration consistency across builds.
  • Support production readiness and design reviews (e.g., PRR, CDR), ensuring designs are mature and ready for seamless transition into production.
  • Perform and guide system-level verification and validation, including functional, environmental, and EMC test campaigns.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, coordinating with design,QA and other stakeholders to ensure schedule and quality adherence.
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor, ensuring correct assembly, harness routing, alignment, and test setup execution.
  • Contribute to, and improve AIT documentation, including test procedures, integration plans, checklists, and configuration records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in integration methods, test efficiency, and build reliability.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of integration or test anomalies.
  • Interface with the Global AIT and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on product standards, process updates, and lessons learned.
  • Mentor and support local engineers and technicians, sharing AIT best practices and fostering a culture of quality and accountability.
