
Spot Repair Supervisor
Job Description

Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in automation solutions for industrial applications and warehouse logistics.
We are looking for people who can work as a leader of our multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot, test, and repair complex robotic systems for our Robot fleet. Tasks could range from working on small electromechanical assemblies and test stands to fully integrated robots. A successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to supervise a large team and communicate effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Go to Market teams.
Day to day activities:
Oversee a team of in-house robotics technicians responsible for the debug, testing, maintenance, repairs and refurbishment of the world’s most advanced dynamic robots.
Develop content and documentation to standardize service processes across the team.
Implement a 5S approach to improve organization and efficiency of the service depot.
Establish cross-functional robot repairs and refurbishment programs.
Ensure all incoming repairs adhere to our SLA commitments to our customers.
Audit and maintain detailed records of issue resolution, logged events during the repair workflow, and accounting of parts consumed by the team.
Preserve effective contact with other departments (manufacturing, engineering, sales, and software support) to ensure a high level of communication and cooperation.
Assist in managing and maintaining the service inventory, serve as a key stakeholder in demand forecasting, and help establish our MRP data foundation.
Apply knowledge of robot and technical documentation to ensure Robotics Technicians are following correct processes providing timely and accurate repairs.
Delegate and supervise the prototype, build, and troubleshooting of experimental hardware coordinating with the engineering teams and researchers as required.
Desired skills:
Experience leading a team of technicians guiding their day to day priorities
Practical hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical systems and fabrication
Professional experience in maintenance, installation, service work in a related industry
Computer skills (e-mail, spreadsheets) required, with command line or Linux being a plus
Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to explain technical issues to varied audiences
Able to obtain a Passport
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
The pay range for this position is between $41.25 to $53.38 per hour. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure.
