The Boeing CompanyJoin the MQ-25 mission as our Chief Systems Architect in St. Louis, MO — lead the end-to-end systems engineering and integration for a high-impact, Navy-facing program. You’ll steer system-of-systems architecture across Integrated Product Teams, collaborate directly with the U.S. Navy customer, and shape technical direction through the full program lifecycle. This is an opportunity to drive complex integration, influence critical decisions, and deliver a next-generation capability that matters.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead teams to evaluate customer and operational needs, define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility across all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
Lead the Problem Report Review Board (PRRB), prioritize and resolve complex anomalies, and drive timely corrective actions that reduce program risk and improve system readiness.
Influence strategic direction by applying deep Systems Engineering expertise to shape, implement, maintain, and continuously refine the program’s SE approach.
Direct and advance Systems Engineering activities including requirements decomposition, system architecture, environment analysis, specification development, trade studies, program planning, interface management, risk management, certification planning & execution, and verification & test planning.
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify complex, lifecycle-balanced system-of-systems solutions that meet operational objectives.
Mentor, coach, and advise engineers across the program in SE tools, techniques, planning, and strategy to elevate technical capability and program efficiency.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
5+ years of experience in system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation
Experience in an engineering leadership role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
Strong oral and written communications skills
Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers
Experience with military aircraft development lifecycle
Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
