The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking Associate Flight Software Engineers to support our Flight Software Team located in El Segundo, CA. In this role, the individual will join a team with to design, implement, and test flight software with a focus on leadership, quality, and development of new capabilities for current and future satellite programs. This position will support the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
We are seeking Software Engineers that are passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging Boeing commercial and government space programs.
This exciting software engineer position requires demonstrated experience within the software ecosystem, a diverse background of project experience, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities of multiple software programming projects. Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists with implementation, deployment and maintenance of software systems for vehicle management applications in compliance with internal and industry standards, processes, and regulations
Aids in the development of test plans and test cases for vehicle management systems
Participates in verification, validation, and integration processes for vehicle management software in compliance with internal and industry standards and regulations
Assists with implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in vehicle management software development
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at El Segundo, CA
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor’s degree
This position requires the ability to obtain a SECRET US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
1+ or more years of experience designing and developing software for a real-time or non-real-time system
1+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 0 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of directly related work experience OR 8+ years of related, relevant experience
Active Secret Clearance or higher
Experience using team collaboration tools including GitLab, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence
Experience in embedded real-time software development
Experience with Wireshark or other network analysis tools and Debuggers
Experience automating software builds, unit tests, and integration tests using a DevOps tool chain
Travel: No travel
