This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.Blue Origin was founded with a vision to enable a future where millions of people are living and working in space to benefit Earth. As Test Engineering Manager at our Grandview, MO facility, you will lead a team of test engineers responsible for developing and executing test plans for propulsion systems, avionics, and structures. You will ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our spacecraft components through rigorous testing methodologies while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead a team of test engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and career development
- Develop comprehensive test strategies that align with program milestones and requirements
- Oversee the design, development, and validation of test equipment and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance
- Manage test schedules, resources, and budgets to meet program objectives
- Drive continuous improvement in test processes, methodologies, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Analyze test data and communicate results to stakeholders, identifying root causes and recommending solutions for technical issues
- Champion a culture of innovation and excellence within the test organization
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in test engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience with aerospace or propulsion systems testing
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical information to various audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Experience with liquid rocket propulsion systems testing
- Knowledge of environmental testing, structural testing, or avionics testing
- Familiarity with test automation and software development
- Experience with DO-178, NASA standards, or military specifications
- Program management experience and PMP certification
- Experience with systems engineering concepts and lifecycle management

Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
